About the Item
This colored pencil drawing on delicate warm brown colored paper was made in 2023 by Amanda Andersen.
Large asymmetrical forms typical in the artists work, connect a group of shapes in the piece– similar to a collection of stones wrapped by circles drawn into dirt with a stick.
High contrast dark brown and cool white lines overlap oval shapes similar to a Venn Diagram cradling smaller sets of oval shapes in light pink and brown.
The drawing is initialed on the back. The paper is acid free, archival paper.
This is an artwork on paper, and therefore not ready to hang. A frame is negotiable on request (please use the contact form) otherwise the artwork will be shipped rolled in a tube.

Amanda Andersen
Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe, Amanda has been working for over 10 years as a professional artist; creating paintings as well as artist books and digital artworks. Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, she makes minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. Using minimalist strategies, she pedals between the abstract and figurative. Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, she also adores fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient. Amanda is also an illustrator and animator creating works under digital pseudonym We Throw Rocks, setting paintings in motion. Her work has shown internationally, including: the Kunstraum Kreuzberg in Berlin, Tiny Creatures in Los Angeles, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts State Museum in St Petersburg. Her most recent exhibition was completely virtual; Flora | Fauna hosted by Tez1and, presented by CleanNFTs and Teia.
Amanda received a BFA in Illustration from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, and completed a MA at the Universität der Künste Berlin, Germany. Her work has been featured in Art Review, Art Kunstmagazin and is held in many private collections as well as the MOMA Art Library and MACBA Barcelona.
